Toe Up Socks with Gabrielle-3 part class (see dates and times below)
Socks are so much fun to knit. Honestly, they are one of my favorite things to knit. I always have a pair on the needles in my bag just in case I have a spare 10 minutes. Well, in this class Gabrielle will be guiding you through socks that start at the toe and end at the cuff. You will start with Judy's Magic Cast on, increase through the toe, work through the foot, turn the heel and continue to the cuff. The classes will begin on Saturday, January 23rd from 1 to 3 pm, and continue with back to back classes turning the heel on Wednesday February 3rd and Thursday, February 4th from 6 to 7:30 pm. You will need to provide your own US 2 (2.75 mm) double point or magic loop needles and 100 gram skein of sock weight yarn. You need to be proficient in knit and purl stitches and how to work make 1 left (M1L) or right (M1R). The $60 class fee covers the pattern and all instruction. This class is limited to 4 people.
Sweater Class with Gabrielle and the Mosaic Flowers Pattern by Natalie V
This class is going to be a doozie! If you've always wanted to attempt a sweater knit in the round from the top down, but also throw in some mosaic knit colorwork with a pattern that the teacher of the class help test knit, then you're in luck. In this series of classes, Gabrielle will help guide you through the most laborious (and daunting) parts of knitting a sweater from the top down. The first class will have you casting on and working some short rows and increasing. The second session of the class will feature the mosaic knitting. The third session will be at your discretion. Maybe you need some help or camaraderie, whichever, you're welcome in. The final class will be to pick up and begin your sleeves. The body and sleeves of top down sweaters can be rather vanilla, so we're going to let you work on those. We will start a group message to keep everyone in the loop to get together in the spring to show off our finished sweaters! We will have 2 sessions of the class on each class day. You will sign up to be in Group A (meets from 12 pm to 2 pm) or B (meets from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm). Class meet Saturdays January 30th, February 6th, and March 6th. February 13th will be the "if you need help or camaraderie day" and Gabrielle will be here from 1 pm to 4:30 pm. I am calling this an advanced intermediate class. You will need to have a good understanding of the knit and purl stitches, make 1 (M1), a reliable cast on technique such as long tail, knitted or cable which you like, and how to knit in the round. You will need to supply your own yarn, circular and double pointed needles in the size you need to obtain gauge, stitch marker and stitch holders. You will need to do a gauge swatch prior to class. The class fee will be $85 and include your pattern and instruction. This class is limited to 4 people per session.
***THE EARLY SESSION IS FULL AND THERE ARE ONLY 2 SPOTS LEFT IN THE LATE SESSION!***
