Brioche Hat Class with Diana-Saturday February 2nd from 11 am to 1 pm
Hot brioche. This is a simple and really confusing technique that I have not yet wrapped my brain around. I can do it if I'm looking at the pattern, but I don't yet understand the anatomy of the stitches. Enter Diana, a master knitter who gets it. In this class, you will be making a reversible hat using 2 different colors. The $45 fee includes your yarn, pattern and instruction. You will need to supply your own US 6 16 inch circular and matching double pointed needles, a stitch marker and darning needle. This class is for an intermediate to advanced knitter. You will learn brioche in the round, brioche decreases, and life lines. You will have to choose your yarn before the day of the class so I can wind it up.
Beginner's Socks with Pam Kurst-Saturdays February 2nd, 9th and 16th from 2 pm to 4 pm
Join us as Pam teaches you how to knit a sock from the cuff down. Pam is much nicer than me. She starts you on US 5 double pointed needles and a worsted weight yarn (I always do US 2 and sock weight!). The class fee of $40 includes your instruction, pattern and yarn as you knit your way through a sock. You will need to provide your own US 5 double pointed needles, and yes, they are available at the shop. You will have homework each week that needs to be completed before your next class. This is an intermediate class where you will learn how to knit in the round on double points, turn a heel and decrease for the toe.
